Ollie's Biography.....
Ollie Austin is recognised as being one of England's top country solo artists. His love and knowledge of country music has made him a firm favourite all over the UK.
Ollie has been playing his own style of music for over forty years, and like all talented musicians he has played and enjoyed a number of various styles over those years.
In his early days he played in pop bands, which meant he was often away from home for long periods of time touring all around the U.K. Ollie soon learnt the need to be fully versatile and the importance of a wide and varied repertoire was a must.

In those days music had a very wide spectrum from rock 'n' roll to slow country ballads and these very different styles could all be found in the top ten charts at any one time.
Later he became a session musician, where he played on a number of recordings backing some of the very top stars of the time. |
Realising that this kind of life style was causing him to miss out on so much of his private life, not being able to see his children grow up he decided to quit the band scene and he started playing in the pubs around Essex. It wasn't very long before he soon filled up every pub he played in and became quite a local attraction.
This popularity very soon became even more widespread as Ollie received bookings from Country and Western clubs, festivals, dances and concerts from all over the UK.
His deep golden voice and interpretation of songs has won him an army of fans, and Ollie's fan base is widespread he has fans as far a field as Australia as well as Scandinavia and Europe. |

Offers for him to go to Nashville have been made and politely declined, this modest Essex gentleman says in all sincerity "that it would be like taking coals to Newcastle".
It is hoped that in the future more theatre work can be arranged so that a greater number of country music lovers can get to see him perform, the country music clubs where he plays at this moment in time are almost always sold out to capacity weeks before he is due to play and his diary is normally filled up to two years in advance.

The forming of the Ollie Austin All Star Country Band in 2008 for the "Best Of Friends" Tour has been an ambition Ollie has at last been able to achieve.
Ollie is supported by five of his good friends and talented musicians and gets the chance to lead his own band playing the songs that he loves to sing to theatre audiences. |
